Pea and Banana Soup
Ingredients
½ kilogram of Dried peas
6 Peeling green bananas and cutting into small cubes
2 tablespoons of Oil
6 Crushed garlic cloves
1 Finely chopped onion
½ tablespoon of Ground cumin
½ tablespoon of Ground annatto
6 cups of Water
½ cup of Grated or crumbled cheese
1 cup of Milk
4 tablespoons of Finely chopped cilantro
1 pinch of Salt
1 pinch of Pepper
Preparation
Step 1 : In a large pot, cook the peas in salted water until tender.
Step 2 : Then, heat the oil and add the onion, garlic, cumin, annatto, and salt, cooking the onions until soft.
Step 3 : Once the onions are ready, add water and wait for it to boil.
Step 4 : Incorporate the green bananas, reduce the heat, and cook on low for about 25 minutes or until the bananas are soft.
Step 5 : After this time, add the cooked peas, mix well, and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 6 : Then, add the cheese and milk, cooking for an additional 5 minutes and stirring occasionally.
Step 7 : To finish, remove the pot from the heat, add cilantro, and adjust the salt to taste.
Step 8 : Serve the soup with avocado and chili pepper.
