Bread Guayuas
Ingredients
1 tablespoon of Instant yeast
½ cup of Warm milk
½ cup of Sugar
2 teaspoons of Salt
4 cups of Flour
1 Stick of butter
4 Eggs
1 teaspoon of Vanilla essence
Orange zest
2 Egg yolks
Colored glaze
Raisins
Chocolate, dulce de leche, or jam
Preparation
Step 1 : In a container, dissolve the yeast in warm milk, mix with a bit of flour, beat with a manual whisk, and let it rest for 1 hour to rise.
Step 2 : In a mixer, combine the flour, sugar, one teaspoon of cinnamon, and salt.
Step 3 : Mix well and add the butter, beat, then incorporate the eggs.
Step 4 : Add to the mixer the yeast mixture and vanilla, and beat until a smooth dough is obtained.
Step 5 : Form the dough into a ball and place it in a container, cover, and let it rise for 2 hours.
Step 6 : Once ready, flatten or break the dough, knead well, and work it.
Step 7 : Then, roll out with a rolling pin and cut shapes using a cardboard mold and cutter.
Step 8 : If desired, fill the shapes by stretching the dough, placing the filling on one end, and rolling up.
Step 9 : Shape the rolls and brush with egg yolk.
Step 10 : Bake at 175 degrees until golden.
Step 11 : After baking, wrap and let rest to prevent hardening.
Step 12 : Finally, decorate with glaze.
