Ingredients

8 Chicken pieces

Cumin

Nutmeg

Powdered garlic

Sweet paprika

Oil

5 Chopped garlic cloves

½ Pearl onion

30 grams of Butter

40 grams of Flour

150 milliliters of White wine

250 milliliters of Coca-Cola

200 milliliters of Orange juice

5 Star anise

6 Bay leaves

2 Rosemary sprigs

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, cumin, nutmeg, powdered garlic, and sweet paprika.

Step 2 : In a large pot, heat the oil and brown the chicken pieces on all sides.

Step 3 : Remove the chicken and in the same pot, sauté the garlic, onion, and butter.

Step 4 : Then add the flour, white wine, Coca-Cola, and orange juice, and let the mixture reduce.

Step 5 : Add the star anise, bay leaves, and rosemary sprigs, then return the chicken to the pot.

Step 6 : Cook over low heat for 3 hours, or until the chicken is tender and the sauce has thickened.

Step 7 : Serve the Christmas Chicken accompanied by green rice and apple potato salad.
