Rompope is a traditional Latin American beverage crafted with care and dedication. Its blend of ingredients such as egg yolks, vanilla, cinnamon, and milk results in a sweet and comforting flavor, perfect for celebrating during festive seasons. Its preparation is a detailed process that requires patience and affection, but the final result is well worth it. Enjoying a glass of rompope is a true delight for the palate.

To prepare the rompope, start by beating the egg yolks in a bowl until they are whitened.

Then, set this mixture aside to use later.

In a pot, place the milk along with cloves, sweet pepper, and cinnamon, and bring to a boil over medium heat for 15 minutes.

After this time, remove from heat and add sugar, stirring well.

Next, let it cool in a water bath and strain it.

In another container, slowly add the remaining milk to the beaten egg yolk mixture, mixing homogeneously.

When the mixture is uniform, pour it into the milk with spices and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for about 15 minutes until the mixture slightly thickens.

Then, remove from the heat and strain again.

Add vanilla essence and aguardiente to the mixture and serve the cold rompope in a glass, optionally garnished with a cinnamon stick.
